The ground has received several layers of leaves, daylight is dimming, our energy is consumed by the weight of outerwear, and we know that the year’s end is imminent.

Silo presents Hibernation, a group show during the season when birds migrate south, mammals sleep and the flow of creative juices slows to a trickle. The body and mind yearn to rest, retire and conserve energy in anticipation of rebirth in the spring. On display are in-progress, interrupted, unresolved projects -- contrary to the function of an “exhibition.” Hibernation dwells on the temporary cessation of activities and strives to both awaken the minds of artists suffering from creative cabin fever and fuel those seeking something beyond the banality of the refined exhibition. Here the dormant and the quiescent are exposed and celebrated.

Artists include Douglas Boatwright, Cammi Climaco, Laura Fields, Nelson Fernando Figallo, Sam Gordon, Patrick Grenier, Ann Holcomb, Sei Young Kim, Elke Lehmann, Sarah Gregg Millman, Christine Osinski, Lily Park, Stephan Pascher, Kristi Ryba, and John Sprague.
